BOSL NEWS – Giving Back to the Community

Letter from Habitat for Humanity - 2013
We are on the verge of many exciting changes for 2013. Our goal is to build 5 homes this year. One in Burlington, one in Oakville and the other 3 are being negotiated. We are also expanding our Restore in Burlington and building a new Restore in Milton. Given the challenging economy it is encouraging to see most companies are growing their commitment to corporate social responsibility in giving back!

In order to ensure our success, we have placed great emphasis on much needed cash donations. We are asking for your financial assistance with a cash contribution of $1,000.00 to $100,000.00. Your 100% cash contribution goes directly to the builds.

With the positive growth expectation this year and next year with the build of 14 more homes we are looking to you to add significant value to our builds. With the importance of community and staying connected we ask that you consider this opportunity to partner with our organization to impact a family for many years to come. Some of the ways in which you can do this are the following:

  1. Cash contribution/Corporate/Home Sponsorship
  2. Contractor Services
  3. Payroll deductions: employee involvement and perhaps corporate matching
  4. Third Party On-Line Donations: create your own fundraising event and give on-line
  5. Pledge On-Line: weekly or monthly giving for an annual commitment
  6. Retail In-Store Campaign: create your own special fundraising event/campaign at the cash register
  7. Adopt A Day Sponsorship: donate $5,000 towards the build and have your staff come out and build for the day.
  8. ReStore: if you have any items like office furniture; cabinets, desks, chairs etc our salvage crew will come and pickup and donate to our Restore. This method keeps items out of the landfill and gives you a tax receipt for the donation.

Depending on the size of the contribution you will receive: advertising on our site banner; recognition in the newspaper, plaque; advertising in our newsletter that goes to over 5,000 people; advertising on our website; invitation to handing over of the keys to the new family; the house can be named after your company, invitation to our annual recognition event; chance to volunteer; providing hope; impact on the families to name a few.

My personal mission is to work with you to develop a customized partnership program to meet your needs. People don’t give, they invest in dreams. Investing in our cause is empowering an entire community. We would love Habitat for Humanity Burlington to be part of your charitable commitment in 2013. Your donation will change a family’s life for generations.

I thank you in advance for your consideration and look forward to hearing from you in the very near future.
